Real Madrid win thriller with Napoli to clinch top spot

With one round of games remaining, Real Madrid secured the top spot in Champions League Group C with a 4-2 fightback win against Napoli on Wednesday thanks to two late goals by 19-year-old Nico Paz and Joselu.

The 14-time winners kept their perfect record intact and have accumulated 15 points from five games, eight more than the Italian winners who are in second place with seven points, and three more than Braga in third. Union Berlin is in last place with two points following their Wednesday 1-1 tie with Braga.

Giovanni Simeone gave the visitors the lead in the ninth minute with a close-range goal, but Real responded fast. Two minutes later, Rodrygo equalized with a beautiful effort into the top corner, and in the 22nd, Jude Bellingham's header gave them the lead.

Two minutes after the interval, Frank Anguissa tied the score with a rebound, but Real Madrid regained the advantage in the 84th minute thanks to a stunning long-range strike from academy midfielder Paz. Joselu then added the fourth goal with a tap-in during added time.
